Summer readin’, had me a blast!

Your parents still won’t buy you a ticket to Narnia? Can’t take a train to Hogwarts? Join the TD Summer Reading Club and ‘imagine’ yourself wherever you want to be.

As one of the sponsors of this great community literacy project, we want to pass on a couple of the summer reads generating the most buzz:

Image

Babymouse by Jennifer Holm — a “graphic novel” series for the younger set, based on a little mouse trying to be perfect and learning it’s okay to make mistakes

And Then It Happened by M. & L. Wade — a series that follows three boys through their antics and escapades.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney — the increasingly popular series following Greg Heffley on his struggles through middle school

Remember, sign-ups for this program last all summer. More than 2,500 kids have signed up so far, so join the fun if you haven’t already done so!

It isn’t just traditional books that count as ‘reading’ either — it’s DVDs, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, or you can even be read to. It’s that easy, and there are many prizes to be won.
